Our esteemed guest speakers included Dr. Jade Kua, a certified life coach who has garnered multiple awards for her work as a medical doctor, educator, and community leader. Also present was Ms Zoe Chu, an accomplished entrepreneur, author, and international speaker who is widely recognized as a baby and adult sleep expert. The third guest speaker, Ms Dawn Wang, is a full-time working mother and content creator who uses her brand, Daprayer Designs, to spread messages of love and encouragement through her artwork.

At the start of the event, Jungmin delivered an opening speech in which she shared her personal and heartfelt story about her own journey through the fourth trimester:

"Ksisters MamaCare project always has a special place in my heart. Especially today’s topic 4th trimester is a period I feel that is often neglected, but actually it is the most important period for mum’s recovery.
Looking back on my own 4th trimester, I realized the emotional rollercoaster that I went through was actually postpartum depression. There were rosy days like I feel I am the most happy person in the world with this little angel in my arms, but there were also depressed days that I also scolded myself why I am not the perfect mum and why my body did not bounce back immediately like I see in social media. From my own experience, I wanted to increase the awareness about the importance of 4th trimester in SG mum community. I have to say I was very blessed to meet these like minded ladies Dr Jade, Zoe, and Dawn in IG community and prepare this event together today! Let me introduce these amazing ladies to you!" - Jungmin Lee

Hosted by Dr Jade, the panel discussion commenced with an air of happiness and enthusiasm.

As a paediatric emergency room doctor, Dr Jade spoke from personal experience about the challenges she faced balancing her work and motherhood. Despite being a shift worker, she strived to be present for her children as much as possible. However, due to work commitments, she had to miss out on some precious moments. Dr Jade urges new and expectant mothers to cherish every moment with their children, no matter how small they seem.

Ms Zoe Chu sharing her tips on sleep training.During the discussion, our sleep training expert, Ms Zoe Chu, highlighted the crucial role of establishing healthy sleeping habits in young children. She emphasized that a consistent and healthy sleep routine not only benefits the child's physical and mental development but also allows parents to have some time for themselves. Additionally, having a better understanding of a baby's sleep patterns and behavior can help parents identify any potential issues and address them in a timely manner.

Ms Zoe Chu has also shared a helpful method for parents to assist their baby in sleeping through the night.  The E.A.S.Y. routine represents four key components: Eat, Activities, Sleep, and Your Time.

Eat - To begin, feeding should be the first activity after your child wakes up. This is because your baby is more likely to eat well in the morning, rather than at night when they are already exhausted and lacking energy prior to sleep.

Activities - Engaging your baby in mat activities after waking up can help to create a greater sense of sleepiness and thus make it easier for them to fall asleep.

Sleep - When you notice your baby exhibiting signs of sleepiness, it's time to put them down in their cot so they can learn to fall asleep independently.

Your Time - Finally, once your baby is sleeping, you can enjoy your own personal time.

Ms Zoe Chu summed up her message by stating, "Get sleep sorted and everything else will fall into place." Next we have Ms Dawn Wang shared her insights on the importance of spending quality time with children. She suggested that one of the most effective ways to do this is through journaling and being present with them. Being present with children and giving them undivided attention can help strengthen the parent-child bond and foster a sense of security and comfort.

Additionally, journaling can serve as a valuable tool for maintaining mental and emotional well-being. It is a much-needed outlet for moms to release stress and pent-up emotions. By taking the time to journal, parents can also capture special moments and memories with their children and create a lasting record of their experiences.

Following the lively and informative panel discussion, the expert guest speakers graciously took the time to engage in a Q&A session with the audience.

Once the panel discussion drew to a close, both the guest speakers and attendees had the chance to mingle and interact in a more relaxed and informal setting.

Attendees were also given the opportunity to sample a selection of Ksisters skin and body care products specially curated for pregnant women.
