Let’s enjoy Salon Quality Hair Care at home! Whenever and Wherever! You can do salon quality homecare! Even when you travel or go to gym!
Since I do hair colour retouch every month and perm twice yearly, my hair is always frizzy, dry, and damaged, so I really like salon treatment! But it easily costs more than $100-150 for 1 time and I don’t have enough time to visit salon often, just like other busy mamas! And I found that it usually doesn’t last more than 1 week. I feel so sad when its smooth touch disappears just quick like that. Do you feel the same way too?
So I dug in, wondering how I can I make it last longer? Or can I do it at home?
Have you ever wondered why salon hair care works better than homecare? Because its steaming machine opens up the hair cuticle and push all treatment ingredients into the hair. Just like #Ksistersbeauty has talked about maximising absorption of skin care, hair care works the same way too.
While I was doing market research, I found Meg Steaming Hair Mask, the rising hair care star in Korea. Even though it is a Korean product, it is more popular in USA now, after its launch in Barneys New York. You can find this product in many K-beauty boutiques in SOHO already.
The selling price in USA is USD $50 (SGD $68) for 1 box! Even though it is not cheap, it is selling well because of its salon quality treatment effect! Meg Steaming Hair Mask can do “self-steaming” with its own specialized formula (of course it is not hot like a steaming machine, more like gently warm feeling)! Because of its steaming effect, nutrition can penetrate into deeper layers, just like salon care! It also creates a protection layer over each hair strand.
Now you can meet this mask at a lower price at KSISTERS! Yes, Ksisters is finally bringing in this rising hair care star to Singapore. Now you can meet salon quality hair care at much cheaper price (lower than 10% of salon care)!
What I also really like about this product is that it is packed for 1 time usage, so I can easily carry it wherever I go like traveling and going to gym. During beach holidays, our hair is always severely damaged, right? So we can bring this along and can restore the damage right away!
The biggest benefit of Meg Steaming Hair Mask is that it makes everything so convenient that you can actually use it often, unlike those products on your shelves that you rarely use. Thanks to its design - hair cap with sticker type, this product liberates us while hair masking! Since it is hassle free easy hair care, natually you will be able to end up doing more often and more longer hair masking! I already knew that it is better to do hair mask more often and leave it longer to maximize the absorption. But in reality as a busy mum, I can't just sit and do nothing for 30 minutes... It is impossible! But with Meg Steaming Hair Mask, yes we can! Thanks to its hair cap with sticker, it can be fixed quite well. And if you cover with towel one more time (to make it even warmer), water will not drip.
To maximize this precious homecare time, I like to do it together with wash off facial packs like Miraskin (Link) or Serendi Beauty Sparkling Pack (Link). After applying both, I can work, watch TV, or do anything else for around 30 minutes! After finishing, I can just wash my hair and face together.
Hair is a protein filament that grows from follicles found in the dermis. To be precise, it is not a living cell. Tiny blood vessels at the base of every follicle feed the hair root to keep it growing. But once the hair is at the skin's surface, the cells within the strand of hair aren't alive anymore. The hair you see on every part of your body contains dead cells (that's why it doesn't cause pain when someone cuts your hair with scissors!). And that's why it is very difficult to expect that hair to be naturally restored and appear better! If you leave your damaged hair as it is, it will get only worse as time goes by.
A hair shaft is composed of three concentric layers: the innermost layer is the medulla, which is not affected by hair care products or processes; the middle layer is the cortex (the pigment is located here), which can be modified somewhat by dyeing, bleaching, perming and straightening; and the outer layer is the cuticle, which comes into play on a daily basis.
The cuticle is made up of tiny overlapping scales that protect the cortex. It's the condition of these scales that primarily determines whether or not you're going to have a bad hair day. Cuticles that are in good shape are unbroken and lie flat, making hair look shiny and smooth. It's when the cuticles and cortex get damaged that problems such as breakage, split ends and a dried-out look arise.
The cortex is responsible for the strength, thickness, and flexibility of the hair. When you see split ends then you know that your first line of defense the hair cuticle is damaged the fibers of the cortex begins to unravel causing the hair to become dry, brittle, and prone to tangles and split ends. When the hair cortex is damaged then it is time for a protein treatment like Meg Steaming Hair Mask which is designed to add strength and elasticity to your hair with Silk Amino.
How does “self-steaming” works?
If you wear Meg Steaming Hair Mask, you will feel this gentle warming. That is because their specially formulated ingredient like Radish, Cabbage, Broccoli, Cauliflower and Chilli extracts gives this warming effect when it meets with our hair! Amazing technology right?
Meg Steaming Hair Pack will deeply penetrate into damaged cuticles and make them in good shape again (please lie flat!) and seal up each hair strand with protection layer. Therefore, it is great for hair elasticity enhancement/ shiny look/ moisturizing.
After using Meg Steaming Hair Mask, you can definitely feel that your hair is filled with nutrients and protected by a smooth, velvety layer. So I keep touching my hair all the time. In Korea, there is a word called “Meaori Bbal” - which means “your hair flatters!”. You know the day you go to salons, you look prettier right? Let's make everyday good hair day! Let's get that Meori Bbal!

What other good ingredients are in Meg Steaming Hair Mask?
Silk Amino Acid: It is very similar to proteins in human skin, which can really nourish your hair well. Silk amino acid is a natural type of amino acid extracted from silk cocoon.
Collagen: You know collagen is good for our skin and hair right? Especially fish collagen molecule (smaller than meat), which can be easily absorbed into our body (that is why it is more expensive!). Meg Steaming Hair Mask has hydrolyzed collagen from fish collagen, which is made of 18 kinds of amino acids! Thus, it can really make your hair look full and vivacious.
It also has these three ingredients, which is good for hair and scalp!
Chameleon Plant: It cleanses our scalp and hair! Many scalp specialized products has this ingredient.
Perilla Frutescens Var. Crispa: It is full of vitamins which gives hair a glossy finish and minerals which makes your hair roots stronger!
Green Tea Leaves: Polyphenol and Catechin make your hair full and healthy.
Plus, it doesn’t use unhealthy ingredients like pigments, sulfates, triethanolamine, talc and mineral oils, which many companies use to make your hair look sleek. These ingredients are actually unhealthy.
We love its subtle peach scent too!

How to use -
This Image is HQ's official How To. But I found that for long hair ladies like me, the hair mask can drop because of the heavy weight of hair. So I prefer to...
Put my hair into Meg Steaming Hair Mask and evenly apply to my hair by massaging throughly (don't seal up yet).
Wear the Meg Steaming Hair Mask and seal up with sticker.
Cover with towel to make it even warmer.
After 20-30 minutes, wash off. I use 2 times weekly.
